Press Release

KEECO’s Silica Micro-Encapsulation (SME) Technology is being widely accepted in Canada.

KEECO, a provider of heavy metals remediation technologies worldwide, announced today it has, through their operative partner N.E.A.T. Environment™, Inc., replaced conventional treatment systems in six (6) electroplating companies and several radiator shops in both British Columbia and Alberta.

Lynnwood, Washington, July 23, 2002   KEECO announced today that as a part of the company’s global expansion plans, it has, through it’s operative partner, N.E.A.T. Environment™, Inc. treated over 1.5 million gallons of process waters from electroplating companies and radiator repair shops in British Columbia and Alberta.  These clients are converting to SME products because, in addition to meeting stringent new requirements from the Ministries of Environment and City Sewage Discharge Standards, clients are seeing significant cost reductions for disposal of the SME sludge products that have been classified as non-hazardous.

KEECO’s SME  technology has been approved for use by:

B.C. Ministry of Environment                                   Alberta Ministry of Environment

City of Kelowna                                                        City of Edmonton

Regional District of Central Okanagan Environment

William Anderson, COO of KEECO and Ken Gardner, President of N.E.A.T. Environment™, Inc. made the announcement at a joint press conference held today in Lynnwood.  William Anderson said that consistent with KEECO’s global expansion plans, the success in Canada, especially the actions of the forward looking environmental regulatory community approvals, is validating our position that SME technologies represent the “next generation” of heavy metals treatment and management.  Ken Gardner stated that the SME markets in Canada will expand rapidly given the proven capabilities of
